During Van Anh’s arrest, police confiscated 53 red books and 2 mobile phones.
In the first investigation, authorities found that from early 2021 to April 2022, Nguyen Thi Van Anh pretended to be an Inspection Newspaper reporter and said she had an acquaintance of many officials who were leaders. The central government as well as Nghe An province get the procedures to illegally convert agricultural land into long-term residential land for 5 people living in Dien Chau district and some other places.
During the process, the victims remitted more than VND9 billion to Van Anh. After receiving the money, Van Anh made fake red books to give to the victims.
It is worth noting that victims’ use of fake red books to illegally cultivate agricultural land and deal with local authorities has brought many complicated consequences.
After learning of Van Anh’s arrest, several people called and sent a request to the Dien Chau District Police Department to denounce the subject’s behavior.
