Increase the value of a special relic from the Central Department of the South

GS. TSKH. Tran Ngoc Them suggested that it is possible to build the tourist area of the Southern Revolutionary Capital on the basis of the Central Department base. Because the Central Office of the South is a highly representative relic, not just for Tay Ninh, for the South, but for the whole country.

Live forever the memory of the Central Division of the South

Every time I have a chance to visit the Central Department of the South (Tay Ninh), names like Lo Go, Xa Mat, Ka Tum… come to mind of the old soldier Nguyen Van Khanh.

Mr. Khanh was originally a second lieutenant who had lived and fought on the battlefields of the Southern Central Division since he was twenty. Mr. Khanh lives in Cu Chi District and will be 82 years old this year.

From War Zone D, Mr. Khanh was assigned to the Central Department of the South, where he was in charge of the guard platoon.

Mr. Khanh said the mountains and forests of the east are bleak, without a shadow of people, with many tigers. At night, people have to sleep high up in hammocks to avoid being attacked by wild animals.

Many times, Mr. Khanh has been present at the loading of rice. The road was arduous, as long as he was healthy, rice was brought back to his teammates to eat. Unfortunately, when he was ill, he could not bring any rice with him. When there was a shortage, the soldiers had to eat the burnt rice from the previous day.

Many people were injured, but there was no anesthetic. “When using sickles to remove joints for sick soldiers, people chewed medicinal leaves picked in the forest to treat diseases. Then they used songs and lyrics to ease the pain,” Mr Khanh said.

There were countless sacrifices and hardships; The base of the South Central Department is bound with indelible memories.

“My health is not as good as it was before, but if I have the opportunity I still want to visit the place that I consider my second home,” Mr Khanh said.

according to dr Nguyen Van Hieu, Faculty of Culture, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, when people talk about Tay Ninh, people often talk about 3 symbols: the cultural space of Ba Den Mountain, the Cao Dai -Religion and Ba Den Berg. Central Department of the South.

“In which the special national cultural and historical relic, the central base of the southern department of Vietnam, is a symbol of the revolutionary tradition of the resilient Tay Ninh country,” said Dr. Fire.

dr Nguyen Minh Man of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said the sacred values of the revolutionary relics in Tay Ninh could be used as a resource for tourists both inside and outside the province.

Also among the youth generation, youth union activities at all levels in the south east region select the central headquarters of the south division in Tay Ninh.

“Promoting the value of revolutionary history is one of the spearheads of economic development for tourism in Tay Ninh,” commented Dr. Man.

Construction of the tourist area of the southern capital of the revolution

In 2013, Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Council issued a resolution on Tay Ninh Tourism Development Master Plan by 2020 with a Vision to 2030.

Accordingly, promoting the revolutionary historical value to develop tourism products is one of the tourism development strategies of Tay Ninh Province.

The resolution states that there is a need to invest in the preservation of revolutionary historical relics in the region, emphasizing the special national relic area of the Central Department of South Vietnam as a highlight.

At the same time, the decision requires the state to invest in improving transportation infrastructure to areas and tourist attractions to attract tourists.

GS. TSKH. Tran Ngoc Them, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, was one of the participants in the Tay Ninh Tourism Development Cultural Survey in early April.

According to GS. Furthermore, the Central Division of the South is a historical-cultural relic that meets the criteria of being highly representative not only of Tay Ninh, of the South, but of the country as a whole.

However, 90% of visitors to Tay Ninh choose Ba Den Mountain Resort. The number of tourists visiting all Southern Revolution historical sites accounts for only 2% as it is actually disproportionate.

GS. More analysis, the first thing to do for any destination is build a brand.

Destination branding is a distinctive, highly competitive feature that enables destination identification and creates an impression in the visitor’s perception.

The name “Central Base of the Southern Department” is the correct name. However, in order to develop tourism, this name has not met the requirements of a tourist destination brand.

Since then GS. Other suggested name: Capital of the Southern Revolution. Next you need to plan tourist destination to build southern revolution capital tourist area.

Keep tourists in the South Central Department

The headquarters of the Central Department South is currently planned into two areas, including a relic area and a memorial area.

GS. Further proposed, the planning of the tourist area of the southern revolutionary capital should have at least 4 subdivisions:

1. Relic subdivision of the homes and workplaces of revolutionary leaders (currently in place but needs further additions and perfection).

2. Museum of the Revolutionary Capital.

The gallery of the tourist area of the central base of the southern department is still monotonous. The Revolutionary Capital Museum must point out the advantages of the geographical location and special natural conditions of the northern region of Tay Ninh Province.

These are the advantages that help this place meet the requirements of the revolutionary capital to be mysterious, mobile and tied to a specific location for a long time.

At the same time, the contents of the Revolutionary Capital Museum must cover the entire history of the Southern Revolution in particular and modern Vietnam in general. As a comparative appendix, the museum must also explore and introduce the revolutionary capitals of your countries.

(3-4) In addition to the relics and museums subdivisions, the tourist area of the Southern Revolutionary Capital needs an entertainment subdivision – entertainment and a food subdivision – shopping.

According to GS. In addition, by implementing the project with this system of 4 subdivisions, Tay Ninh can keep visitors longer, from 1 session to 1 day.

This allows international tourists and generations of Vietnamese to gain a tremendous amount of knowledge about the Vietnam War.

With this project, the Southern Revolutionary Capital tourist area will meet both the recreational, entertainment and spending needs of tourists.

“Also with this project, Tay Ninh will make an important contribution to the country by preserving and promoting the value of an invaluable historical-cultural heritage and helping to revive the memory of a war forever. Legend”, Prof. Add share.
