Recently, Hue beef noodle soup has appeared on school menus in Saijo City, Ehime Province, northwest Shintoku Island, Japan.

Accordingly, 35 elementary schools and middle schools organized a meal “Bun Bo Hue – a specialty of Hue City, Vietnam” during lunch. Vietnam’s specialty is described by the Japanese FNN as a specialty of Thua Thien Hue – Vietnam, using rice flour and beef as the main ingredients. “I think this dish is very tasty, if a bit spicy,” said one elementary school student in an interview after the meal.

“The noodles are as soft as udon noodles, the soup is orange and the taste is also very different,” enthusiastically shared one child.

Bun bo Hue will still appear in the menu. This is an idea to stimulate students’ interest in Hue city and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.

It is known that since the establishment of friendly cooperative relations between the two cities of Hue and Saijo from 2018 to the present, many cultural, educational and exchange activities have been carried out between the two cities.
